By Augustine Mumbere,
Police’s Liaison’s Officer for Rwenzori East Region SP. Luke Mbusa has denied allegations that the force was reportedly conniving with criminal gangs, allegedly terrorizing people in Kasese Municipality.
His comment follows public outcry that whenever criminals allied to “Gaza” are arrested they are immediately released by Police raising suspension among the local community.
SP. Mbusa clarified that Police has raised a red flag over the emergence of criminal gangs using children to attack victims.
Although Kasese has had a series of criminals victimizing pedestrians, riders and drivers, change in the methods of operation of the gang known as “GAZA” has been at the finger prints of security and new measures have been reached upon to flash them out.
He however asked the public to record statements at Police and testify in courts of law whenever the suspects are arraigned before court.
