The Kasese district Forum for Democratic Change Chairperson, Mr Ronald Kabuku has described it as disturbing and empty decision for Mr. Simon Kasereka, the District commercial officer, to be released on police bond.
Mr. Kasereka was arrested and detained by police last week for allegedly swindling about 150 million shillings meant to benefit the struggling members of the public under the popular Parish Development Model Programme.
Mr. Kabuku who wonders why the suspect was not produced before courts of law, added that the release of Mr. Kasereka, was a violation of President Museveni’s directive of denying police bond to any person mismanaging the PDM fund. Mr. Kabuku speaking……
When engaged about Mr. Kabuku’s concerns, the Police spokesperson for Rwenzori East region, SP Nelson Tumushime, declined to give any details before consultations, adding that police was very sensitive about the executive orders related to PDM funds.
