One person is reported dead during a motor accident that involved a Kasese-Kampala bound bus belonging to Pokopoko Bus Company based in Kasese district.
Whereas no official comment yet from police and the bus Company, both of whose leaderships were busy over the matter, the lower rank staff with the public transporters said a passenger suspected to be yet to be identified woman had died and several others injured during the early morning incident.
He identified the suspected killer bus at an Isuzu UAQ 226W that veered off the road in Kabirizi on the Kasese Bwera highway after reportedly knocking an alleged elephant that was crossing back to Queen Elizabeth national park.
One Mr. Alphose Baguma, a motorcycle rider and fish monger described the driver as experienced, saying the manner in which the elephants crossed paused a bigger risk to the bus occupants to Bwera side and the nearby speeding car.
May the soul of the deceased rest in peace and quick recovery to the injured survivors.
