The ordinary of Fort Portal Catholic diocese, Rt. Rev. Dr. Robert Muhiirwa Akiiki has appealed to the pilgrims heading to Namugongo for the 3rd June Martyrs day celebrations to observe the standard operating procedures against the spread of COVID-19.
In his update speech about this this year`s Martyrs celebrations yesterday,, Bishop Muhiirwa said whereas the number of the virus victims, death and spread had drastically reduced, they were not to take any risks but to stop anybody not willing to observe the Standard Operating Procedures.

Bishop Muhiirwa later made emphasis that requires pilgrims to keep and observe the Kaveera free environment in the area as launched by the chairperson of the Uganda Episcopal Conference, Dr Joseph Anthony Zziwa in regard to Pope’s call through Laudato Si, to have the first world, the earth, clean.
