Rukoki health centre four in Kasese Municipality is reportedly overwhelmed by patients, Kasese Guide Radio has learnt.
Dr. Yusufu Baseke, the Kasese district health officer confirmed the challenge, saying the current plans to upgrade the facility to a General hospital, making more active and increasing staff at the neighboring health threes, will largely deal with the situation.
He said in circumstances where the lower health centers will be fully staffed and functional, the future Rukoki General Hospital will accommodate only referred patients. Dr. Baseke speaking………
The facility In-charge, Dr. Kayiri Kathembo who attributed the overwhelming number of patients at Rukoki health center four to the good free service they offer and consistency of medical supplies however was concerned about the limited space after part of the health facility was burn about two years ago. Ms Sylvia Muhindo, a care taker at the facility said whereas they were happy with the services at the facility, keeping patients in the open over limited accommodation facilities was a risk. Ms Sylvia speaking………
