Pastoralists in Kahendero village Muhokya sub-county in Kasese district yesterday stormed the office of the LC 3 Chairperson expressing their dissatisfaction over the oppression’s by UWA officials in the area that has made their work difficult.
Led by the chairperson LC 2 Mr. Elly Asiimwe, pastoralists complain that the rangers have suspended rearing of cattle in fishing villages and erected a kraal where they will keep animals found roaming but no consultation was made with the local leadership.
Mr. Elly who wondered why UWA did not involve the leaders over the development Wildlife protection Authority and the office of the RDC to work on their demand to open national park boundaries to ease their work. Mr. Elly speaking;…..
Mr. Charles Kagoro, the Chairperson Lands in Kahendero village, said they have on several occasions notified the RDC’s office to send a team of surveyors to demarcate the boundaries but in vain.
