Pr. Heziron Bwambale the pastor Kasese Better Living District church and a coordinator for Lhukonzo bible translation project in Kasese District, has called for the inclusion of sign language interpreters into the addresses, teachings and preaching’s by faith based institutions and other public gatherings to equally serve community members with hearing impairment.

He said the deaf face significant communication barriers while intending to receive essential services like healthcare and education, as well as the word of God, thus, living in isolation, frustration and depression.
Speaking to our reporter at Kasese Better Living Centre SDA district church in Rwenzori Field on Saturday, Pr. Herizon was concerned that the deaf have missed on essential services over language barriers as a result of lack of sign language interpreters, a gap that has to be filled to allow equitability among members of the community that should be served indiscriminately. Pr. Herizon speaking……
He encouraged local community members to freely associate with persons with special needs he said were gifted in a unique manner to the service and benefit of their communities. END
