The parliamentary Committee on Government assurances have called for an emergency meeting with officials from Ministry of health to address challenges of Kilembe mines Hospital, in Kasese district.
Hon. Joyce Bagala, the Committee chairperson told the press shortly after touring the facility, they were shocked to realize that out of 82 government health workers that were previously working at the hospital, only fourteen were retained, while the rest had been transferred to different health facilities in Kasese Municipality.

Mr.Zedekia Kambasu Kayiri, the Kasese Municipal Deputy town clerk, told the committee that the permanent secretary Ministry of Health, directed their office to transfer health workers at Kilembe Mines Hospital to other Government facilities. Hon.Florence Kabugho, Kasese District Woman MP, who felt sympathetic to expectant mothers, called for expedited process by Government to have the Hospital fully functional. END.
