Mr. Tien Tsongo, the Assistant Resident District Commissioner for Kasese, has urged parents to provide information about the Learner Identification Numbers-LIN which he said will address learning challenges in the education sector.
Addressing a stakeholders meeting yesterday at Kinyamaseke Primary school in Kinyamaseke town council, Tien said LIN and Education Management and Information system-EMIS is compulsory in all primary schools in Uganda, therefore urged headteahers and heads of department to learn the system to avoid inconveniences.
He said the system will integrate information about learners and teachers so that it is available for different decision makers.
He threatened to arrest parents and guardians who have allegedly refused to provide information to school head teachers.
