Mr. Ernest Thabugha, the Kasese District Education officer has reaffirmed his earlier call for informal education he said was very paramount in shaping the consciousness and morals of the children.
Speaking to Kasese Guide Radio shortly after a district leadership stakeholders’ meeting organized by ENABLE at TJ-Global Hotel in Kasese municipality yesterday, Mr. Thabugha reminded family heads that sweeping, washing, digging, table manners, grazing domestic animals and birds among others were not part of the school curriculum per say but practices that learners understand and practice right away from their parents.
Mr. Thabugha who said informal education was good to prepare a child for school, added that through autodidacticism, learners are able to know their clan, cultures and guided generally about their language and how certain dishes are prepared. Mr. Ernest speaking…..
Mr. Sanairi Bukanwa, the Kasese municipal agricultural officer, called for mindset change against the perception that presents farming as a role for the elderly poor and a punishment that has been accommodated by only 20 percent of the young, most of whom target white color jobs that are actually scarce and leave many, jobless.
