Pastor Peter Baluku, the Seventh Day Adventist Church Zonal Coordinator for Kanyampara in Rwenzori Field has called for cordial relationship between parents and their school going children if both sides were to reap from the fruits of education.
In his sermon during service at Kalingwe SDA church in Kisinga subcounty in Kasese district, Pr. Baluku who warned parents against using abusive, intimidating language and attaching young ones to any form of domestic disagreements, said children need to be loved, blessed, given time, guided and listened to if they were to live responsibly with the rest of the community members. Mr. Edson Thembo, a church elder asked Mr. Edwin Kugonza Bayiringa, an intending aspirant for the Bukonzo County East MP seat if elected, to use part of his legislation tenure in the house to intervene into their road communication challenges that have put lives at risk and make development costly and almost impossible compared to other neighboring areas. Mr. Edwin, the Chief Guest at the Church’s mini-function said whereas many roads in the constituency had been categorized as security roads and budgeted for under Agro-led program, lobbying and legislative gaps were major challenges in the constituency whose political leaders have allegedly done little to follow up with government on key development issues.
