State Minister for National Guidance, Hon. Godfrey Kabyanga has reechoed his earlier proposal to have parents accountable on any development fees agreement with schools.
About a fortnight ago, Hon. Kabyanga described as total betrayal by some parents who agree on a particular development fee but leave the head teachers in the hook of the law.
Addressing the Kasese district NRM stakeholders’ meeting at Kasese Multipurpose hall located in Kasese municipality, Hon. Kabyanga who insisted that parents must pay the development fees agreed, said he was consulting with the education stakeholders, including the Kasese RDC to decide on where to place the hook for non-payments to save the learners and the head teachers.
The former Kasese Municipal Mayor who asked local leaders to attend meetings at schools in their areas, warned public primary schools against initiating and imposing boarding facilities to parents who cannot afford. Hon. Kabyanga speaking………

According to the Kasese district chairperson, Mr. Erifaz Muhindi, the meeting agreed on a rebranded and reconciliatory kingdom that will see all agreed payments in government schools handled without affecting the learners. Mr. Muhindi speaking………..

About boarding schools, Lt. Joe Walunsimbi, the Kasese Resident District Commissioner who called for calm among all education stakeholders, said he was to meet soon with the education department heads to ponder on a better approach of handing public schools with boarding facilities.
