Parents and teachers in Kasese District have welcomed the Education Ministry’s decision to allow learners to bring digital devices to school.
However, many have expressed concerns about affordability and infrastructure, urging the government to support schools with necessary ICT equipment and expand electricity coverage in hard-to-reach areas to facilitate digital education.
Last month, Education Minister Janet Museveni announced that laptops, smartphones, tablets, and other ICT devices would be permitted in primary and secondary schools, provided they are strictly regulated by school authorities.
