Parents and guardians in Kasese mumcipality neighboring River Nyamwamba have been warned against living their children without caretakers during this disastrous period.

Mr.Joseph Isingoma, the Kasese district senior planner described as poor parenting and lack of responsibility among family heads to subsequently live their children without a maid at home at a period when Nyamwamba River is bursting its bank.

Mr. Isingoma, who is a member on the district disaster committee told our reporter yesterday shortly after assessment of floods in Kilembe sub-county , that he was disappointed to find children washing plates, fetching water  and bathing in River Nyamwamba.

    Mr. Isingoma on parenting;…

He said Kasese district Local government has submitted a proposal to central government requesting funds for desilting river Nyamwamba that has displaced hundreds of people and claimed their lives.

Mr. Isingoma however asked the local community to cooperate with the contractor who is constructing Gabions on River Nyamwamba at Rukoki as a temporary measure to tap the flooding river. END.
