A go back to school campaign in Nyamwamba Division in Kasese Municipality begins today with threats to arrest parents and guardians whose children will have been rounded up by law enforcement officers for loitering than being at school.
Mr. Pimako Kasereka, the area local council three chair said a number of parents and guardians had formally committed themselves last term to have their children in school and failure to do so, calls for legal steps against them.
The harshly looking Mr. Pimako asked parents not to look at the petty jobs to children for financial gains but mind much about their future living conditions. Mr. Pimako speaking……
Reports have indicated that many children have been seen collecting plastic bottles, scrap, vending boiled eggs and fruits among other items at school time.
Earlier last week, Hon. Sowedi Kitanywa wondered why parents should be pushed to have their children in school yet there no other alternative sources of livelihoods in future. END.
