Police in Luwero town is holding a Pakistan
national for allegedly torturing his worker.
Pakistan has been identified as Lucky Shoabi the Director of Golden Crop
Agriculture and Agro-Processing Industries Limited.
The Company deals in farming, selling shoes, gas cylinders, car bolts and nuts among other products at Kasana Mabanda zone in Luwero town.
Mr. Christopher Mangenga aged 20 years alleges that on 15th January, Shoabi and two staff grabbed him on allegations of stealing a pair of shoes and beat him up.
Mangenga adds that he pleaded with an investor to take him to Police to bargain his case there but instead he ordered that he is tied up at the ceiling while naked for close an hour demanding that he reveals where he had hidden the shoes.
In the alleged torture, Mangenga sustained chest pain and multiple bodily injuries. Mr. Mangenga speaking……
ASP Isah Semwogerere the Savannah Regional Police Spokesperson says that after Mangenga’s situation stabilized, he reported the case of torture at Police and officers responded by arresting Lucky Shoabi to answer the charge.
Semwogerere adds that Shoabi was arrested together with his staff Moses Yiga who allegedly helped him to torture Mangenga.
