By Kyamanduma Patrick,
Police in Kyondo subcounty in Kasese district are investigating circumstances under which over ten honey bee hives were burnt reportedly by yet to be identified people in Butungi village.
Corporal Wilson Kabagambe, the OC for Kyondo police post who had earlier referred our reporter to the police spokesperson for details, later confirmed the incident he suspects could have accrued from a land dispute between the Kororowater falls Bee keepers and a hosting family, some of whose members have already been summoned for questioning today. The disappointed Mr. Elizaphani Gundi, the chairperson for Kororo Water falls described the incident as disturbing, adding that only four of the 14 active bee hives, were alive. Mr.Elizaphanispeaking1…..
He believes the incident could have been ignited by a conflict between them and the landlord, some of whose family members seem to have failed to grasp the Memorandum of understanding. END.
