Over seven thousand cases of teenage pregnancies have been registered in Kasese district in the last twelve months, Ms. Queen-Gonda Tugume Asiimwe, the district senior Community Development Officer has revealed.
Addressing a dialogue meeting organized by the Inter-religious council at the Bishop’s hall in Kasese, Ms. Queen-gonda reported a very sharp increase in teen pregnancies with Nyamwamba Division in Kasese Municipality registering more than 1500 cases she attributed to poor parenting that is largely affecting morals among the young people.
Ms. Queen-gonda said whereas most cases of teen pregnancies fear coming openly to her office, the health facilities have been instrumental in keeping record of the victims when they turn up for antenatal and other related medication shifts. Ms. Queen-Gonda speaking…….
