More than fifty Kenyan pilgrims have entered Uganda through Busia border enroute to the Numgongo shrines for this year`s Martyrs’` day celebrations.
The pilgrims are drawn from Kisi, Bungoma, Kakamega, Nakuru, and Siayaareas among other parts of Kenya.
Ms Annah Omollo, the leader of the Kenyan pilgrims said they started their journey on May 13th, 2022 at Yala diocese and they expect to arrive at Namugongo on June 2nd, 2022 despite several challenges including the unfriendly weather conditions and sometimes heavy rains.

Agnes Nyaboke Isaac, a pilgrim from Kisi diocese says that she opted to walk from Kenya to Namugongo as the only to thank God for healing her from several illnesses, including severe back pain.

Mr. Alexander Wejuli, the vice-chairman of pilgrims in Eastern Uganda, says that this is the first group to enter Uganda through the border and they expect more to come. END
