Over five cases of suspected extortion by executive committee members and civil servants, have been reported to police.
SP Nelson Tumushime, the Rwenzori East Regional Police Spokesperson, confirmed adding that some recoveries of money by suspected embezzlers had been made.
SP Nelson who had said progress on investigating the vise had been made, also revealed that the suspected extortion of the PDM beneficiaries by Mr. Mr. Zeviro Baluku, the chairman for Kirembe PDM Sacco, were being handled lawfully. SP Nelson speaking……
He however warned that police was considering to consider arresting soon, some members of the public he said were bribing PDM officials even after several warnings against their plans. END
