Young Agro Green Africa Network in partnership with Kasese Youth Link, a non-governmental organization in Kasese district has trained in hands on skills over 400 young mothers, students and vulnerable youths in Munkunyu and Nyakiyumbu sub-counties in Kasese district.
Mr. Isaya Baluku, the executive director for Young Agro Green Africa Network said training the beneficiaries mainly in leather shoe making was to position them strategically to gain from the increasing demand for leather shoe repair and making, as well as making them economically self-reliant. Mr. Ronald Kato, the executive director for Kasese Youth Link later called on parents and guardians to invest a lot in the discipline of their children or else, training and guiding them becomes almost impossible.
Meanwhile over two hundred youth are undergoing hands on skills training at Destiny vocational school in Kasese Municipality, Mr. Moses Okumu, the project Director has said.
Bishop Okumu told this radio that the training in saloon, shoe making tailoring, vehicle mechanics and driving among others was in line with the Church’s evangelization program aimed at having financially empowered children of God who would in turn contribute to the activities of the Church.
