The local leaders of Karambi and Kitholhu subcounties in Kasese district are scared that the current rains could end into an epidemic after more than 30 pit latrines were swept away by heavy rain waters.
Mr. Paddy Muhindo, the local council three chairperson for Karambi subcounty who said more than twenty main residential houses had been destroyed, was also scared that the stagnant rain water was likely to turn into a parasite breeding bases in the area.
He also called for timely interventions by Kasese district local government to save Kanyamunyu bridge that connects Kisolholho and Mirami Parishes which is rapidly being weakened by running waters.
Mr. Paddy also blamed the neighboring communities for poor terracing methods whose water directly hits the bridge, leading to its current worrying state. Mr. Paddy speaking………
