Over twenty four house hold in Congo-quarters, Bulembia division in Kasese Municipality were yesterday(15th.August.2021) relocated to Basecamp primary school for their safety after River Nyamwamba flooded as a permanent solution is being thought of.
Addressing the victims yesterday, His Worship Chance Kahindo, the Kasese Municipal Mayor asked them to perceive the evacuation in good faith, adding that it was done as a temporarily measure to save lives.

Just last week, the Ministry of Water and Environment embarked on a plan to restore and protect River Nyamwamba in Kasese District by planting bamboo trees on the river banks and supporting the livelihoods of communities along the catchment area, as well as installing a flood forecasting and early warning system, and do spot cleaning of the river.
Mr. Callist Tindimugaya, the Commissioner for Water Resources Planning and Regulation at the Ministry of Water and Environment says the 30 Billion Shillings plan is expected to start this month and will last eight to twelve months. Mr. Tindimugaya speaking……
