    Over 20,000 school going Girls have been sexually abused in Uganda.

    Over twenty thousand school going Girls have been sexually abused in Uganda, the trend that must be reversed for a better future by all education stakeholders, the Kasese Municipal Uganda National Union Chairperson, Mr. Jerevezio Monday Bwambale has said.

    Addressing teachers during scientific celebrations for international world teachers` day celebrations for Kasese Municipality at Kasese primary school yesterday (05th.Setember.2020), Mr. Monday who was disappointed that a few of the abused girls could return to school congratulated teachers for their hard work that must be enhanced to join the community sensitization against early sex and marriages that have frustrated the education sector especially during this lockdown.

    Hon. Edmond Mwanguhya, the Kasese Municipal Secretary for social services who presided over the function on behalf of the Municipal Mayor, His worship Kabyanga, partly blamed cases of early marriages and pregnancies to some parents and guardians whom he said were not only un bothered by the situation but lack a positive mindset on education.

    Earlier, the Kasese Municipal education officer, Mr. Emanuel Kayiri asked teachers to consider going for private computer skills that are currently a requirement in a number of ways.

    In a separate interview, s senior female teacher at Kasese primary school Ms Margret Mbabazi Mijumbi who attributed early pregnancies to some parents that un necessarily exposed their children in business during the lockdown, and un called for visits to relatives called for plans by parents to seek for the intervention of the faith based leaders, elders, counselors and teachers for the required guidance to the learners at home. Ms Mbabazi speaking………
