Police yesterday(10th.December.2020) arrested over 100 people for violating COVID-19 guidelines in Kampala.
The arrested individuals included those who were not wearing masks and arcade managers who were not observing COVID-19 standard operating procedures.
Kampala Metropolitan Police Deputy Spokesperson Luke Owoyesigyire noted that those arrested had been detained and would be charged under the Public Health Act.
He also said that Traffic Police officers are alert to make sure that whoever is moving in public vehicles was putting on masks and that the owners of vehicles and motorcycles had put in place standard operating procedures.
The cumulative confirmed cases in Uganda are now 25,730. There were also 12 new deaths bringing the total number to 219. END.
