Only three of the expected thirty three secondary schools participated in the Rwenzori regional post primary music festival 2023 held at Bwera secondary school in Mpondwe-Lhubiriha town council in Kasese district.
Mr. Joseph Nzukwa, the Chairperson for secondary school head teachers’ association, said from the nine districts, one municipality and on City in the regional, they were surprised to receive only Nyakasura school from Fort-portal city, Bwera and Nyakiyumbu secondary school from Kasese district.
In an interview with our reporter shortly after the competitions, Mr. Nzukwa called on school head teachers to allow learners participate in co-curricular activities to support the new curriculum, promote talents and good health. Mr. Nzukwa speaking…….
In his welcoming speech, Mr. Yokonia Bwambale, the Bwera secondary school head teacher, the host, said involving a child in a variety of activities, including academics, skills and talent development, gives him a chance for a choice in future. Mr. Bwambale speaking……
Mr. Gillian Baluku Mafungoru, the regional coordinator for Music Dance and Drama called for a positive mindset by people who regard music as a waste of time when it’s actually a source of livelihoods.
