Whereas some school children look at community work as a role of the old people, Ms Fortunate Lusunzu Masika, a primary seven candidate has benefitted from a similar activity after an announcement for scholarship by Mr. Douglas Saturday Madaraka, the Executive Director for Madaraka Cares, a Community based Organization in Kasese district.
Speaking to Kasese Guide Radio after community work aimed at extending gravity flow water to the communities of Kihalimu and Besenia yesterday, Ms Lhusunzo 12, a pilot hopeful said she was encouraged by his father to join the community for work before earning a one year scholarship from Mr. Madaraka she said she greeted and later helped to carry a bunch of matooke the sponsor had bought from an old woman. Ms Lusunzo speaking……
Mr. Madaraka who asked the minor never to think of marriage before completing education, described Lhusunzo as a well nurtured and disciplined young girl that her peers should emulate while attending to elders. Hon. Madaraka speaking………
He also asked children in school to have reason for going to class by being hardworking and focused. END.
