The Rwenzururu King His Majesty Charles Wisley Mumbere Iremangoma has said universities have a duty to develop EAC member states calling on higher institutions of learning to focus on relevant research and discipline’s that can address the continents challenges, such as poverty.
Addressing over One hundred university students from Assumption University of DRC Beni and Butembo in DR-Congo at Kasese Multipurpose hall today, Omusinga, described institutions of learning as a channel that if properly used can pull Uganda and the African region from poverty to middle income and to modernization.

Omusinga said Uganda and DR-Congo needs graduates who appreciate their background who can contribute to development through innovation and research.

He said Uganda was peaceful, the reason more students from all over Africa come to persue their education here.
On state house scholarship awards, Omusinga pledged to consider students from DR-Congo to benefit on the scholarships since they all subscribe to Obusinga Bwa-Rwenzururu. Omusinga one speaking …..

The team leader, Rev.Fr. Kambale John Baptist, who doubles as the vice chancellor Assumption University of DRC Beni and Butembo, said during the one week visit, students will visit Kilembe Mines Hospital, Mubuku Irrigation scheme, QENP, Kasese Main market, attend Mass at our lady of Assumption Kasese cathedral church on Sunday and play a friendly match between Rwenzori International University among others.
Omusinga was accompanied by her Royal Highness Agnes Ithungu Asimawe and cabinet Ministers. END.
