The Rwenzururu king, Omusinga Charles Wesley Mumbere Iremangoma has held a meeting with his Cabinet for the first-ever since he appointed them three years ago while in confinement in Kampala.
During the three-hour Friday meeting at his provisional Palace in Kasese Municipality, the King, flanked by the Nyabaghole Agnes Ithungu Asimawe tipped the Ministers on various kingdom recovery strategies, according to a presser by the Kingdom Spokesperson, Hon. John Thawithe.
The Omusinga is quoted to have called for strategies to mobilize the residents into harnessing the abundant but under-exploited natural resources, including the tourism potential.
The Omusinga noted that it was incomprehensible for the kingdom to depend on other people and agencies to provide what the Banya Rwenzururu can do on their own.
He directed the institution’s Finance, Planning and Economic Development Ministry to lead the way for the huge crowds of people that turned up at his home-coming but waiting to see where the Kingdom administration was taking them.
About amnesty He advised his subjects to guard against being misled about the amnesty which government had granted him and his co-accused subjects, noting it was constitutional.
Prime Minister, Rt. Hon. Joseph Kule Muranga reported that the Cabinet had lined up a number of development projects. END
