Kasese District Local Government with support from Reproductive Health Uganda and Obusinga Bwa-Rwenzururu have launched the Kasese District Climate Action Plan 2025-2033.
The Plan is part of the District and Reproductive Health commitment to advancing climate action which is urgently required given the emerging challenges, including the environmental related disasters.
The launch was done today at Rwenzori International Hotel in Kasese town, by Rt.Hon. Joseph Kule Muranga, the Rwenzururu Premier, Mr. Erifaz Muhindi, the District Boss, Annet Kyarimpa, the Programs Manager Reproductive Health Uganda and Adam Sparre Spliid, the Deputy Ambassador of Denmark to Uganda among other stakeholders.
Ambassador Sparre said Reproductive Health continues to play a leading role in the Provision of Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights, information and services which are significantly impacted by the effects of Climate change. Sparre, who earlier made a courtesy visit to the Internally Displaced People in Muhokya town council and inspected Mini Irrigation schemes in Kasese District funded by the Danish Government, pledged more support to Agriculture as one way to empower the vulnerable, since Kasese is greatly affected.
