The Rwenzururu Kingdom Premier, Rt. Hon. Benson Kule Baretazale has described as empty reports that the cultural institution was sponsoring their former Premier, Rt. Hon. Gad Mbayahi, who is eying the Kasese District local council five seat come 2026 general elections.
Rt. Hon. Gad Mbayahi reportedly appeared at the National Unity Platform party headquarters in Kavule Makerere where the party introduced and received new members from across the entire country, including seven Member of parliaments; Hon. Lutamaguzi for Nakaseke South and Hon. Dr. Timothy Batuwa for Jinja South West among others, a move that has caused mixed feelings by some Kingdom subjects.
Addressing the media at his office in Kasese this afternoon, Rt. Hon. Baratazale called for no alarm, adding that whatever Mr. Gad, a retired head teacher, was saying and doing politically, were personal and not the position of the Kingdom. Rt. Hon. Baritazale speaking…..
He said any official of the Kingdom was free to join politics for as long as he fulfills the conditions related to the independence of the cultural institution. END
