Nyakiyumbu Sub-County Council in Kasese District has unanimously approved the creation of two more administrative units from greater Nyakiyumbu area, with the aim of bringing services closer to the people.

The council approved the formation of Katholhu-Kayanja-Kibara Town Council, comprising the following wards: Kayanja, Rwehingo, Katholhu, Bukangara, and Kikumbu, with a total of 17 cells.
The second administrative unit, Musyenene-Kalongoire Town Council, will consist of 24 cells across six wards: Kaghorwe, Kalongoire, Ndongo, Musyenene, Kyabisoro, and Nyamighera.
Mr. Peter Sunday Kakule, the Sub-County Chairperson, added that the remaining part, Nyakiyumbu Main, will comprise Lyakirema, Busambu, Kighuthu, and Muhindi parishes, with a total of 16 villages.
