Residents of Nyakabingo Sub-County in Kasese have asked government to expedite the process of elevating Nyakabingo health centre two to three status, for improved health care services.
They allege that trekking from Nyakabingo to access referral at Mt. St. Mary’s Hospital in Kasese town and Rukoki health centre four is costly depending on the topography of the area.
In his report presented to the district chairperson Mr. Erifaz Muhindi during a stakeholders meeting held yesterday at the trading centers of Kasindi and Bukumbia, Mr. Kahitison Thembo Charles, the area local council three chairperson, stated that the health facility is overwhelmed with patients from the Nine parishes who at sometimes are asked to buy drugs from pharmacies and private clinics in Kasese town.
