The Election Management Committee of the National Unity Platform (NUP) has released the names of individuals who have been awarded party flags to contest for Member of Parliament positions in Kasese District in the 2026 general election.
Vetting for those seeking party endorsement for the parliamentary seats was conducted two weeks ago at the party headquarters in Kampala.

The results have since been officially published through various social media platforms.
Speaking to the press this afternoon at NUP offices in Kasese town, the NUP Registrar, Mr. Charles Kule Kabwemi, confirmed that Hon. Jackson Mbaju Kathika has been duly nominated to contest for Busongora County South parliamentary seat, having defeated Isaac Mumbere. For Bukonzo County West, Shaida Muhindo emerged victorious against Jockus Yambuku; in Bukonzo East, Mr. Cleus Bwambale won over his rival, Amon Philly Kahungu; while Mr. Robert Muthoma will now contest for the Kasese Municipality seat, after winning, Sam Baluku.

Other flag bearers include Joneni Bwambale Bamwenda for Busongora County North and Fatuma Kamama for the Kasese District Woman Member of Parliament seat.
Mr. Bryans Basisa, NUP’s Chairperson for Kasese, called for a collaborative effort between the nominees and those who did not make it, in order to realize the party’s broader vision.
