Members of the National Unity Platform-NUP vying for political positions in Kasese district believe that the 2026 election should serve as a catalyst to end the Forum for Democratic Change-FDC and the National Resistance Movement-NRM dominance in the region.

The party has picked candidates to field for all the six parliamentary positions as; Ms Kathembo Fatuma, who will vie for the woman MP seat, Mr. Cleus Bwamable to vie to Bukonzo East, Tahakaba Muhindo Shahidu for Bukonzo west, Jonan Kathika will contest in Busongora South and Robert Muthoma is NUP’s candidate for Kasese Municipality.
The Kasese NUP district chairperson, Mr. Brian Basisa, says the party has for the last four years been engaged in grassroots mobilization and is sure the community is fully aware of the party’s mission of transforming the country. Mr. Brian speaking……..
Mr. Muthoma, the party flag bearer for Kasese municipality, blames the government for failing to address the concerns of 2020 flood victims and land disputes which have occasionally turned out deadly and the human-wildlife conflict. END
