Meanwhile, Ntungamo Magistrate’s Court in Ntungamo District has charged and remanded two teachers from Standard College Rwashamaire, who were seen in a viral video assaulting a student.
Mr. Aneb Mwesigye and Mr. Naboth Twesigye who were charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm, pleaded not guilty to the offenses and were remanded until March 4, 2025, for a mention of their case.
The incident allegedly took place after the teachers accused the 16-year-old Brian Akampa, a Form Two student, of escaping from the school grounds.
It is alleged that Akampa had gone to Rwashamaire town to eat chapati and beans, locally known as ‘Kikomando,’ before returning to the school.
In the widely shared video clip, the two teachers mercilessly flogged Akampa and when he tried to run amidst pleas to be forgiven, he was grabbed at the door and slapped hard. END
