    NRM’s Mujungu returns to Parliament after Busongora South by-election win

    Hon. Gideon Thembo Mujungu is the winner of the Busongora South constituency Parliamentary by-elections elections.

    Declaring the official results at tally room at the Kasese Multipurpose hall last evening, the Kasese district Returning officer, Ismeali Takih Atwijukire said Hon. Mujungu garnered 12,088 votes against his closest rival, Hon. Jacksom Mbaju Kathika for NUP who got 6,866 votes.

    Others are Mr. Aloysius Kighema Baguma who scored 5, 564, followed by Mr. David MulindwaSimbwa with 2,093, DP`s Bernadette Businge with 84, and 32 for Ms Doreen Izagire. Mr. Atwijukire speaking……

    Justice Simon Mugyenyi Byabakama, the Electoral Commission chairpersoncongratulated the aspirants for participation, arguing the winner to have mature and unifying celebrations of the electorates and his competitors than mocking them. Justice Byabakama speaking…..

    The constituency MP elect, Hon. Mujungu commended his electorates for giving him more time to represent them, pledging to give more time to his constituents so as to associate closely with their concerns.

    The Minister for ICT and National Guidance, Dr. Chris Baryomunsi said the NRM win in Busongora South constituency is a proof to the opposition that had kept the electorates of un proven hopes and mere lies over service delivery especially in the hard to reach mountainous area in Kasese.     The former Kasese district chairperson, Mr. Geoffrey Bigogo who represented FDC`s Aloysius Kighema, described yesterday`s polls as empty, wondering if there was any progress in the democratization plans in Uganda. Mr. Bigogo….

    Ms Bernadette Businge of DP was the only candidate, save for Hon. Mujungu, who witnessed physically the official declaration of the results.
