At least 75% of the National Resistance Movement (NRM) youth candidates in Rukoki Sub-county, Kasese District, were elected unopposed during the Village Youth Council polls held yesterday.

According to Mr. Simon Musanji, the NRM registrar for the area, the exercise was conducted peacefully. He thanked the local residents for their calm and orderly participation and encouraged them to uphold peace and unity ahead of the 2026 general elections.

Mr. Musanji also announced that the National Unity Platform -NUP youth candidates had won in Kapoko, Karongo, Misika, and Bughalitsa parishes.
