By Augustine Mumbere,
The Kyondo Sub-county NRM caucus has resolved not to support individual candidates who will contest as Independents after reportedly losing the NRM party primary elections come next year.
The resolution was reached at this afternoon in a meeting of NRM cadres held at St. Luke Kinyabisiki Church of Uganda, aimed at making evaluations and forging way forward for the forthcoming elections.
During the meeting, the NRM members and leaders acknowledged that some of them have been publicly supporting independent NRM leaning candidates, leading to loss of many elective positions.
They all agreed that if the constituency was to be won by the NRM, they should desist from supporting independent leaning candidates but rather to give total support to the NRM flag bearer’s at all different political positions regardless of their individual differences.
Led by the Kyondo sub-county NRM chairperson, Mr. Jim Kalimunda, the caucus wholesomely endorsed Yoweri Kaguta Museveni as their NRM sole candidate, adding that they are also planning to have sole candidates at lower Electoral positions including Parliamentary and LCV seat.
Mr. Kalimunda speaking…..
Dr.Julius Monday Bwambale Rude, the Constituency NRM Chairperson and Ms. Sarah Ithungu Baleke, the Kasese District NRM Woman MP flag bearer, called for unity and harmony if the party is to win 2026 general elections. END.
