The Kasese district Deputy Resident District Commissioner in charge of Bukonzo, Lt. Matte Magwara has called for no politics in the recruitment of the of Local Defense Unity personnel in the district.
Addressing the media at his office in Kasese yesterday, Lt. Magwara, a retired UPDF officer said political party cards were not a requirement by those interested to volunteer under the unit, thus calling for no discrimination of any kind because maters of security must be treated under maximum consciousness for the safety of lives and property.

Lt. Magwara later called for more strictness by the local council one chairpersons who must not be lured into recommending strangers and criminals into the LDU that will in future be entrusted with safety of the local population.
He further called for patience among the intending recruits now that Kasese district is under the second phase of the exercise. END
