No cotton picking in Nyakiyumbu sub county in Kasese district on Sundays this season, Mr. Peter Sunday Kakule, the area Local council three chairperson has announced.
Speaking to Kasese Guide Radio in Kasese town this afternoon, Mr. Peter Kakule said the new directive was reached to avert farmers from thieves targeting cotton gardens on less busy days like Saturdays and Sundays.
Mr. Peter Kakule who insisted cotton prices were at two thousand shillings and not below as drummed by the exploitive middle men, called for the attention of the local council one chairpersons to bring to book people who either pick or sell cotton during restricted days.

He said they were investigating reports that neighbors and people known to cotton farmers were using strategic tactics to illegally pick cotton over weekends, a situation he described as inhuman and deadly against the perpetuators. Mr. Peter Kakule speaking…….
