No Civil servant from Kasese District and Kasese Municipality has been reprimanded for corruption after their submissions satisfied the Parliamentary Accounts Committee sitting in Hoima, Kasese Guide radio has learnt.
Speaking to Kasese Guide Radio shortly after the meeting, Hon Betty Naluyima, the Woman Member of parliament for Wakiso District who represented the chairperson Public Accounts Committee of Parliament at Hoima district headquarters said Kasese District had satisfied their committee but modes of salary and wage payments need to be streamlined to avoid cases of under and over payments.
Kasese District however has two weeks to submit documents on some of the pending audit queries as Kasese Municipality has to satisfy parliament with a formal recovery plan for the Youth livelihood program funds of about 290 million shillings.
The clearance by the committee of Parliament however has nothing to do with the investigations being by the Anti-corruption unit of State House against some of the civil servants in Kasese.
In attendance were Hon. Harold Tony, Member of Parliament for Bukonzo East, who is a member of the committee and Hon Kisunzu Robert who represented Mr. Muhindi Erifaz, the Mayor Kasese Municipality Chance Kahindo. END.
