His Majesty Charles Wisley Mumbere Iremangoma, the King of Rwenzururu, has renewed his National Identity registration with the National Identification and Registration Authority (NIRA), urging all his subjects to actively participate in the ongoing exercise.

The registration was carried out this afternoon at the Kingdom Palace in Kamaiba Ward, Central Division of Kasese Municipality, by the District NIRA Officer, Mr. Anther Kathongole.
According to NIRA, the exercise targets the renewal and replacement of lost National IDs, as well as the registration of new individuals aged 0–16 years. It is open to both Ugandan citizens and legally residing non-citizens.
Mr. Kathongole emphasized the importance of the exercise, stating that accurate registration supports national planning and security.

Speaking during the event, Lt. Joe Walunsimbi, the Resident District Commissioner for Kasese, cautioned NIRA officers against any form of corruption during the registration process, stressing the need for transparency and accountability.
A section of journalists from Kasese District also took part in the exercise alongside King Mumbere. END.
