Dr. Amon Bwambale has officially received instruments of power as the newly appointed Kasese District Health Officer after the official retirement by Dr. Yusufu Baseke.
Last year, Mr. Baseke retired from civil service, leaving Mr. Stephen Bagonza, the Assistant District health officer-environment health, in acting position for almost a year.
Presiding over the handover function at the district headquarters today, Mr. Eriabu Ntarwete, the Kasese district Deputy Chief Administrative Officer, asked Dr. Amon to promote team work, discipline, hard work and result oriented district staff whom he said were vibrant and self-motivated for effective service delivery. Mr. Bagonza used part of his speech to ask Dr. Amon for efforts facilitating possibility of covering the remaining 19 of the 44 subcounties and town councils without health centre three facilities as required by government, as well as making follow ups with the Ministry of health to have 100 percent health centre coverage from the current 65.
