Muslims will celebrate the joyous occasion of Eid al-Fitr tomorrow after the crescent moon signifying the end of Ramadan was not sighted last evening, Uganda Muslim Supreme Council said following the moon sighting committee reporting negative results.
Dr. Sheikh Ziyad Swaleh Lubanga, Director of Sharia at the Uganda Muslim Supreme Council addressed the nation, stating that after careful assessments and consultations with moon sighting committees throughout Uganda, it has been confirmed that the crescent moon was not been sighted last evening and therefore, Eid al-Fitr will be celebrated tomorrow. The Muslim leadership in Saudi Arabia made a similar proclamation moments ago, urging believers to spend the remaining days of the auspicious month doing good deeds. END
