President Yoweri Museveni wants Ugandans to use tourism as a tool to communicate to the world that Uganda is a peaceful country.
Uganda yesterday joined the world to celebrate the World Tourism Day with the national celebrations held at Nyakasanga playground in Kasese municipality.
In the President’s message that was read by the Minister of Tourism, Wildlife and Antiquities, Col Tom Butiime, Museveni said tourism plays and continues to play a critical role in rebuilding communities, restoring hope and fostering peace.
He noted that it is through revamping tourism activities that the regions are able to recover, create jobs, rebuild infrastructure and offer the local people a bright future. Col. Butime speaking…..
The President also said that the government had invested a lot of resources in improving tourism and through different campaigns they have enhanced awareness of the region’s tourism potentials.
