President Yoweri Museveni has admonished traditional healers across the country for interfering in the treatment of Ebola and ordered them to stop with immediate effect.
Mr. Museveni who made this directive while addressing the nation on the status of the Ebola outbreak in the country, stem from the Ministry of Health’s report on an Ebola Victim identified as Twagirayezu Ndahiro, a known contact but escaped from his home in Mubende where he was being monitored about a week ago and went to Luweero District to seek treatment from a traditional healer.
When it didn’t work, Mr. Ndahiro requested to be brought to Kiruddu hospital, where he was later taken to but it was too late for the doctors to save his life.
The President began by accusing the traditional healer of endangering both his and that of the patient by accepting someone with a weird sickness.
Subsequently, he directed that all traditional healers should suspend whatever they are doing across the country. Mr. Museveni speaking1…
Mr. Museveni further cautioned also religious leaders not to accept sick people with symptoms of Ebola who go to churches seeking healing prayers. Mr. Museveni speaking2…….
He also refuted earlier reports that there is a confirmed case of Ebola in Kampala, the President said the only case was Ndahiro who was brought from Luweero. END
