President Yoweri Museveni Tibuhaburwa has reportedly directed Prime Minister Rt. Hon. Robinah Nabanja for a comprehensive assessment of the causes of repeated flooding of river Nyamwamba for a lasting solution.
Addressing the media at Verina Gardens in Kasese town last evening, Hon. Ferigo Kambale, the Member of Parliament representing Kasese municipal, said during a cabinet meeting on Monday this week, the President directed the Prime Minister for an assessment report to him within one month for a long term solution against the floods caused by the several kilometers long river.
According to the legislator, the President called for special attention and budget for the stubborn rivers in Kasese district for purposes of saving lives and property. Hon. Ferigo speaking……..
Earlier in his letter to the President, Hon. Ferigo reportedly called for plans for higher and stronger gabions at selected points, procure a D10 excavator for continuous disilting of the water channels and compensate the families of the 52 people who have lost their lives since 2011 among others.
