President Yoweri Museveni has instituted a team of Ministers to visit Kasese district soon on a fact finding mission about the boundary opening of Kyabatukura Victims of Eviction, in Kitswamba Sub-County.
Mr. Zephanus Mubingwa, the Kasese Deputy Resident District Commissioner in charge of Busongora County made the revelation today while addressing members of Kyabatukura Victims of Eviction at Rugendabara-Kikongo town council.
Mubingwa, said the ministers will present a report to President Museveni about the status quo of the disputed land between Kibaale National Park and the farmers.
He urged Kyabatukura Victims of eviction to become law abiding since the matter is already in Court, reaffirming that Museveni’s decision to send ministers on ground gives hope that soon their grievances will be solved.

According to Kiiza, a total of 428 families consisting of about 5,000 persons were in 2001 evicted from Kyabatukura in Kistwamba sub-county after UWA claimed that the area was inside the boundaries of Kibaale National Park. Mr. Luke Kiiza speaking….
Luke Kiiza said during the bloody eviction, the petitioners made loses of property including crops on the formerly contested (20,000), twenty thousand acres of land located in Kyabatukura village 24 years back. END.
