President Museveni has insisted the ongoing rationalization process will continue, despite critics.
Speaking during the thanksgiving for Energy Minister, Ruth Nankabirwa in Luweero last weekend, Mr. Museveni further justified his move to rationalize what he referred to as parasitic government authorities and agencies established to duplicate work, make others lazy and cause doubles expenditure.
The move to scrap a number of government agencies and authorities has been met with resistance, especially from Members of the Parliament and the public, recently the Uganda Coffee Development Authority that many think is responsible for the increase in the coffee exports for Uganda, contrary to President Museveni’s position.
Speaking on Saturday, President Museveni who listed URA as another authority he will disband, said that by rationalization, the government will be able to save more money that would be channeled to other developmental programs. END
